Thanks, Derek!

As predicted, the Swarovski big guns came out after work and easily picked out the two summer plumaged Spotted Redshanks and slightly more dowdy Ruffs at Derek White's Eggs pit. Common Tern was also a late entrant to the list with around ten zooming around over the pits. 118 and currently back level with the Nuns! I wonder what's next?

  2. We'll be doing well to get 2 from Little Ringed Plover, Ringed Plover, Dunlin, Ruff, Black-tailed Godwit and Spotted Redshank - it already looks like the LRPs (Long Range Pits) will steal the points in the BirdTrack Challenge

  3. Virtually none! We would be sunk without the 'from the reserve' clause! Your lake would have given you a massive advantage had we stuck with 'only on or over the reserve'.

As it is, the ultimate prize of the TEAL cup will surely be won by the amount of watery stuff recorded?

  4. You could be right there, Steve... if only it was easy to sample/ID!
